Climate protection team at Ludwigsburg district office reorganized

There have been two changes in the Ludwigsburg district climate protection team in the past six months: three women will now be driving climate protection in the Ludwigsburg district in the coming year.

Three women stand outdoors, wearing white face masks. They are positioned in front of a brick building, amidst greenery and autumn foliage. The women are dressed in casual clothing, with one in a brown sweater, another in a gray cardigan, and the third in a black top.

The position of climate protection manager was filled by Julia Neuhäuser in the summer. Her main task is to coordinate and implement the district's integrated climate protection concept and to network and collaborate with various stakeholders. Since November 2020, Neuhäuser has been receiving active support from Elisa Rittmeier to ensure that the climate protection projects run smoothly. The work of the two climate protection managers is complemented by Katharina Lutz, who has been in charge of the international research project In-Source since the end of 2019.

Last year, numerous measures from the district climate protection concept were once again advanced and several new projects are planned for 2021. In terms of its own administration, the district administration office has entered the European Energy Award (EEA) certification process. In the coming year, a cross-departmental energy team will systematically assess the status of energy and climate policy work within the district administration. Based on these findings, further measures will be identified, planned and implemented. Various environmental education projects for schoolchildren in the district as well as events and lectures in cooperation with the Schiller Adult Education Center and the Energy Agency in the Ludwigsburg District (LEA e.V.) are also planned for 2021. In future, environmental and climate education will be expanded through cooperation with the city of Ludwigsburg to introduce energy-saving projects at schools.

In addition to implementing the measures of the district climate protection concept, research work will be continued through the international In-Source project and cooperation with the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences. In-Source analyzes the interface between food, water and energy supply in terms of sustainable development.

The climate protection team is always happy to support the citizens of the district and the district municipalities with advice and information on the exciting path to climate neutrality.
