The film "Amrum" by Fatih Akin, based on the childhood memories of Hark Bohm, is a coming-of-age drama set in the spring of 1945 on the North Sea island of the same name. The main plot focuses on how Nanning tries to find rare ingredients by bartering in the post-war period, when there is a shortage of virtually everything. During his search, he gets to know the islanders and the Frisian language better, but also has formative experiences with death and has to find his own way. The admission fee of 8 euros includes coffee or tea after the movie.
After the screening, staff from the public health department will provide information about type 2 diabetes, one of the most common chronic diseases worldwide. Experts emphasize that early diagnosis is crucial in order to prevent serious secondary diseases and ensure the long-term quality of life of those affected. Many people live with undiagnosed type 2 diabetes for years, as the first symptoms are often unspecific. However, regular check-ups - especially in the case of risk factors such as obesity, lack of exercise or a family history - allow elevated blood sugar levels to be identified in good time.
The event is a cooperation between the Stadtseniorenrat Ludwigsburg e.V., the Central Filmtheater Ludwigsburg and the Health Department.
