According to estimates by the Federal Drug Commissioner, around 10,000 children are born in Germany every year who suffer from some form of fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD). FASD is the most common non-genetic disability in children. It is caused by the consumption of alcohol during pregnancy and is therefore 100 percent preventable.
In cooperation with the schools on the Römerhügel school campus, Robert-Frank-Schule, Mathilde-Planck-Schule and Oscar-Walcker-Schule, the district's local addiction officers have therefore brought the ZERO! exhibition to Ludwigsburg. Interactive and experience-oriented, the exhibition provides information at three stations about pregnancy, alcohol consumption and avoidable harm. At the center is a walk-in dome tent that symbolizes a uterus.
The exhibition will be presented from January 30 to February 4, 2023 during general school hours in the auditorium of the Mathilde-Planck-Schule, Berufliches Schulzentrum, Römerhügelweg 53 in Ludwigsburg. It is free of charge and aimed in particular at school students, trainees and professionals from the healthcare and social services sectors, but is open to all interested parties.
The exhibition will be accompanied by two online presentations for professionals and all interested parties. Registration is required for school classes/groups and for participation in the online events at suchtbeauftragte[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de.
