International class from Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium Marbach am Neckar visits the Kreishaus - "Personal friendships across cultural and national borders are important"

On Tuesday, September 19, Sandra Grüninger, Head of the District Council, Partnerships and Central Services Office, welcomed the international class from Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium (FSG) Marbach am Neckar to the district hall on behalf of the District Administrator. "We are proud to have a school with an international class in the district. Here you can learn how to live together and cultivate friendships," said Grüninger.

A large group of diverse students, approximately 60, stands together outdoors near a building and greenery. They are smiling and dressed in casual clothing, with some wearing jackets. The atmosphere appears friendly and lively, suggesting a celebration or gathering.

Personal friendships across cultural and national borders are important, Grüninger continued. The district therefore supports student exchanges between schools in the district and their partner schools. He himself maintains several friendships and partnerships with other districts in Israel, China, Hungary, Italy and Germany.

Pupils sign the guest book and watch the English version of the district film

After the welcome, the pupils signed the district's guest book. They also watched the English dubbed version of the district film.

The international encounter class was first offered in the 2003/2004 school year and has since become a permanent fixture in the FSG's program. The classes are in year 10 and around a third of them are attended by international pupils. The language of instruction is English. The aim is to give pupils the opportunity to engage directly with other cultures and thus promote intercultural competence in everyday life.
