After almost two years of preparation, twelve students from the part-time agricultural college specializing in home economics successfully passed the final examination for home economists together with three external repeaters at the Mittlerer Neckar nutrition center.
Optimal time planning, creativity, independent and responsible work, specialist knowledge and communication skills are some of the skills that have to be demonstrated in the examination. The tasks in housekeeping are as colorful and varied as life itself, ranging from care services such as catering or textile care to the planning and implementation of events and comprehensive support in everyday life.
With this qualification in their pockets, women now have the opportunity to train as state-certified master housekeepers, housekeeping managers, village helpers or specialist housekeepers for the elderly.
Information on careers in home economics is available from Karin Hagenbach, training advisor for home economics careers at the District Office, Agriculture Department, Tel.: 07141 144-44923 or e-mail: landwirtschaft[at]landkreis-ludwigsburg.de
