The parking permit is intended for small businesses that rely on parking their vehicles close to the job site to unload materials, machinery, tools, or specialized equipment. This is not possible everywhere, and applying for individual exemptions takes time and money. Under the leadership of the District Economic Development Office and with the support of the Ludwigsburg District Trades Association, the district’s transportation authorities have developed a parking permit to assist these businesses and will jointly implement it effective September 1.
Uniform Regulations Throughout the District
The new tradespeople’s parking permit is valid in all cities and municipalities within the district and allows, among other things, free parking on public streets, parking in areas with restricted stopping, and parking in resident-only zones. These special permits are valid exclusively while working at customer sites on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Who Can Apply for the Parking Permit
Trades businesses that require a service, workshop, or service vehicle weighing up to 7.5 metric tons directly at the job site for their work are eligible to apply. The administrative fee is 200 euros per annual permit. Up to three vehicles can be registered on a single permit. If necessary, multiple permits can also be applied for.
Application Process and Further Information
Applications for the tradespeople’s parking permit are accepted by the traffic authorities in Besigheim, Bietigheim-Bissingen, Ditzingen, Freiberg am Neckar, Gerlingen, Korntal-Münchingen, Kornwestheim, Ludwigsburg, Marbach am Neckar, Pleidelsheim, Remseck am Neckar, and Vaihingen an der Enz, as well as the Ludwigsburg District Traffic Authority. Businesses with their headquarters or a branch office in the Ludwigsburg District must submit their application to the traffic authority responsible for their place of business. Companies headquartered outside the Ludwigsburg district may apply for the permit at the transportation authority of the municipality where they first begin operating within the district.
