Sunday, September 22, Kumpf Fruchtsaft GmbH & Co KG, Industriestrasse 22, in Markgröningen
The last days of summer are numbered and now the apple harvest in the orchards is in full swing. In keeping with this, fruit juice producer Kumpf from Markgröningen is opening its doors and showing visitors how the best orchard apples, pears and other fruit are turned into fine juices in the press house. Kumpf is the oldest fruit juice company in Germany and produces juices from Baden-Württemberg's orchard fruit and nectars from local and exotic fruits. The transparent production begins at 10 a.m. with a church service, followed by an informative program on the company premises, with the production facilities open for exploration throughout. Participants should note that sturdy footwear is required for the tour of the factory. Among other things, they can look forward to a tasting of the product range, refreshments with Swabian specialties, farmhouse ice cream, coffee and cake as well as a colourful children's program. Visitors can also expect to see the Markgröningen town shepherd with little lambs, a basket weaver at work and a wide range of information about bees, apple varieties and the Ludwigsburg-Stuttgart organic model region. The event will be accompanied by music from the trombone choir and Unterriexingen music society.
Important note: Unfortunately, the glass production at the SIGGI winery in Hessigheim, planned for September 22, 2019, has to be canceled.
