Transparent Production During the Fessler Mill’s Anniversary Year

The Fessler Mill is celebrating its 630th anniversary. Today, the historic grain mill produces muesli, natural food products, sports nutrition, and flours; since 2010, it has also been producing regional whiskey and gin. This afternoon, the mill will open its doors to interested visitors and customers for a cozy get-together. At 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., the guided tour “From Grain to Cereal, Flour, and Whiskey” will be offered, providing insights into the mill and distillery, storage facilities, the whiskey warehouse, and the production process. The Obergfäll family showcases their wide variety of fruit and vegetable crops

The Obergfäll family runs a diverse horticultural farm that grows vegetables and specialty crops such as asparagus, berries, pumpkins, and Christmas trees. The farm store offers the farm’s own fruits and vegetables, homemade fruit spreads, and complementary products almost year-round. As part of the “Open Farm” tour, registered participants will walk with the farm managers through the fields and greenhouses, including a pumpkin tasting. The farm store will be open. Second Farm Tour at the Braun Organic Farm

For the second time this year, the Braun Organic Farm in Aurich invites registered participants to a farm tour. After the tour, there will be time for discussion and questions over a shared snack; the farm store will be open. The contribution toward the cost of the snack is 10 euros per person. Pumpkin Festival at the Eisenmann Fruit Farm

For three generations, Eisenmann Fruit Farm has been synonymous with fresh, locally grown produce. The variety ranges from green asparagus and berries to cherries, plums, and apples, all available at the farm store and at seasonal market stands. This year’s traditional Pumpkin Festival will take place under the “Transparent Production” initiative and will feature information on the product range, production, processing, and storage, as well as live apple juice pressing demonstrations, field tours, and a machinery exhibition. The District Office’s Fruit and Horticulture Advisory Service will be represented with an information booth. The day will be a celebration for the whole family, featuring a wide selection of food and drinks, catering provided by local clubs, and a colorful children’s program.
