Transparent production on September 11 in the district of Ludwigsburg and in the state capital: farm tours at the Grau poultry farm and the Sperling organic fruit and vegetable farm

As part of the state's "Transparent Production" campaign, interested consumers are invited to take a look behind the scenes of two companies in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen and Sersheim on Sunday, September 11.

A small, fluffy yellow chick rests gently in a person's open hands. The hands are supporting the chick, emphasizing its fragility and the tender care being provided.

The Sperling family produces organic fruit and vegetables on their farm in Stuttgart-Mühlhausen and also keeps laying hens. The products can be purchased around the clock in the self-service farm store and there is also a market stall from the Sperling farm at the weekly markets in Stuttgart (Marktplatz) and Kornwestheim. During the farm tours, which are offered at three different times, the egg production, the orchard and the vegetable fields are visited and the production is explained by Mr. Sperling. The tours start at 9:00, 12:00 and 15:00 and last around two hours.

The Grau family's farm in Sersheim specializes in chicken fattening and arable farming. During the farm tour (11:00 to 12:30), visitors will learn how the broilers are reared and kept in accordance with the "Animal Welfare Initiative" and how they develop during fattening. Afterwards, the Grau family offers lunch together (cost: ten euros).

The Sperling farm is located at Hofsträßle 40 in 70378 Stuttgart-Mühlhausen. The address of the Grau poultry farm is: Glattbacher Weg 2/1, 74372 Sersheim. The guided tours are only offered for registered participants. The number of participants is limited. If you are interested, please register by Friday, September 9 at the latest by calling the Agriculture Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office on 07141 144-2700 or 07141 144-44935.
