The district of Ludwigsburg recently organized an e-bike tour on the "Celtic Trail" tourist themed cycle path. Despite the heat, eight interested people set off. Tour guide Wolfgang Trackl briefly checked the e-bikes before the start of the bike tour and took care of all the safety requirements for an accident-free tour. The cyclists set off at 10 a.m. from the gates of Hohenasperg, the start of the route.
Information, interesting facts and plenty to smile about at every point along the way
The Celtic experience began for the group with information about Hohenasperg. They then continued on to the Celtic finds at Kleinasperg, the Celtic grave at Katharinenlinde, the princely grave in Eberdingen-Hochdorf and the burial mound field in Pfaffenwäldle. At each Celtic site, there was information about the find, interesting facts and a few laughs. There was an interesting exchange between the participants on the subject of the Celts throughout the tour.
The tour continued towards the Celtic Museum. After a lunch break, all the cyclists enjoyed an in-depth and entertaining guided tour of the Celtic Museum. "An in-depth visit is definitely worthwhile," the participants agreed. After the museum tour, the municipality of Asperg surprised all participants with a "survival pack" for the onward journey.
On the trail of the Celts by bike: cycle path immerses you in history
The cycle tour then continued via the Celtic sites: the Birkle large burial mound, the Schöckingen women's grave and the Hirschlanden warrior. The participants immersed themselves in the history and life of the Celts and were very happy that they were able to move from site to site on modern and contemporary e-bikes. By the end of the bike tour, the history of the Celts had become a little more alive for all the cyclists. Sweaty, but with many new impressions and experiences, the participants set off on their individual journeys home.
"The Ludwigsburg district tourism team would like to thank all the cyclists for this wonderful and unforgettable day together, Wolfgang Trackl for the excellent cycling tour and the team at the Celtic Museum Hochdorf for the in-depth and entertaining tour," said Sabine Schönberger, Head of Tourism at the Ludwigsburg District Office.
