Partnerships are very important in the district, emphasized District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier when welcoming the delegation from Israel to the district hall on Tuesday. The district of Ludwigsburg has maintained a friendly relationship with the Upper Galilee in Israel for more than 35 years, making it the district's oldest partnership.
It is a "great pleasure not only to know that the partnership exists", said Allgaier, "but to see that the partnership is being lived". The district administrator emphasized that he was proud that the exchange was taking place on many levels. The partnership was sealed in an official document in the presence of representatives from the schools and several district councillors. The friendship between the schools should hopefully continue in "many friendships between the pupils" for years and decades to come, said Allgaier. "I hope that you will experience many happy moments here in the district of Ludwigsburg and return again soon."
René Coels, principal of the Oscar Paret School, thanked the school for supporting the partnership. "This is a special day for our school." At the same time as the visit from Israel, guests from Portugal, Spain and Latvia are also currently visiting as part of the Erasmus project "Learning from the Holocaust".
Herbert Pötzsch, Chairman of the Pedagogical-Cultural Center Former Synagogue Freudental, wished the partnership: "May your friendship remain and grow so that you can say: 'We have found new friends! We have found new friends!"
Background: Eynot Yarden High School already maintains an exchange with Friedrich-Schiller-Gymnasium in Marbach. Thanks to the partnership with the Oscar Paret School, every year group of Israeli pupils now has the opportunity to take part in an exchange with Germany, which means that the partnership visits take place every year on an alternating basis. The Alfred-Amann-Gymnasium in Bönnigheim, the Robert-Bosch-Gymnasium in Gerlingen and the Robert-Franck-Schule in Ludwigsburg also maintain regular exchanges with schools in the Upper Galilee.
