Giving refugees a face and a voice: Exhibition opening on October 1 at the Kreishaus

More than 540,000 people from different cultures and nations live in the district of Ludwigsburg. The district administration office and the Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart e.V. have put together a diverse series of events entitled "An(ge)kommen im Landkreis Ludwigsburg" in collaboration with numerous partners from civil society in order to raise awareness of the issues of flight and migration. It starts on Tuesday, October 1, 6 p.m., in the Ludwigsburg district hall, Hindenburgstraße 40, with the opening of the traveling exhibition "An(ge)kommen. Moments. Encounters. Stories" and the exhibition "An(gekommen) in Kornwestheim". The events are aimed at all interested citizens and are suitable for both young and older people.

An interior space features large columns and wooden ceiling panels. Surrounding the room are several exhibition panels with text and images. Natural light filters in through large windows, illuminating the area and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for visitors.

A total of 33 pictures can be seen in the exhibition.

The exhibition "An(ge)kommen. Moments. Encounters. Stories.", which was created as part of the "People on the run" project of the Forum der Kulturen Stuttgart e.V. in Fellbach, sheds light on the topics of flight and the causes of flight and gives refugees a face and a voice. It portrays people with different stories of flight: Senior citizens who were displaced during the Second World War and refugees who have been living in Germany for more than ten years or only recently. The individual stories are very personal and provide an authentic insight into the flight and current life of the people portrayed. Although each story is individual, there are many parallels in the reasons for fleeing and the experiences. Parallel to this, an exhibition will be shown that was created directly in the district: "An(ge)kommen in Kornwestheim". It portrays 22 people from different backgrounds who live in Kornwestheim.

The exhibition opening with drinks and finger food as well as musical entertainment will take place on Tuesday, October 1, 6 pm, in the district hall. The exhibition can be seen from October 1 to October 18 during the normal opening hours of the Kreishaus: Mondays to Wednesdays from 8 am to 4 pm, Thursdays from 8 am to 6 pm and Fridays from 8 am to 1 pm.

Flyers for the entire series of events will be available in the town halls and in the Ludwigsburg district hall.
