Pupils aged 14 and over can register on the www.firmensommer.de platform from mid-May. The service is free of charge for young people and employers. They can use the "Occupational field" and "Location" filters to search for suitable offers. The registration deadline is always three working days before the respective taster day. "Over 70 offers have already been posted and more will be added before the vacations," reports Beate Jacobsen from the summer company team.
Important insights into the diverse world of work
The project is an effective support for school pupils in their career orientation. With more than 300 training occupations and numerous courses of study, the company summer offers important insights into the diverse world of work in addition to the school internships.
The company summer has several advantages for young people: they can get to know professions and make contact with employers. They also have the opportunity to arrange a longer internship and receive a certificate of participation for their application portfolio.
Employers decide how a company summer event is organized
"During the taster days, the young people get an impression of how fit you need to be for a job, how much contact you have with colleagues or customers or which foreign languages are required for a job, for example. As a result of their experiences, young people may say goodbye to their dream job and discover a new and exciting profession instead," reports Hiltraut Vieth from the summer company team. Each employer decides for themselves how a company summer event is organized. For example, the training occupations are presented, company tours are given, discussions with trainees are offered or the participants can even lend a hand.
Employers from the district who would still like to take part should post their offer on www.firmensommer.de as soon as possible so that as many young people as possible can take advantage of it. It is worthwhile for young people to keep an eye out for new offers on the platform from time to time.
Cooperation partners and sponsors of the project are the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ludwigsburg State Education Authority, the Ludwigsburg Employment Agency, the Job Center, the Ludwigsburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the District Craftsmen's Association.
