Ceremonial signing of the school partnership between the Robert-Franck-Schule and the PKC - Israeli exchange students take part in festive event

They left Tel Aviv in the morning and arrived at the Pädagogisch-Kulturellen-Centrum (PKC) in Freudental in the afternoon. 10 Israeli students and their accompanying teachers Anna Naveh and Simone Machlof are looking forward to the attractive exchange program with the Robert-Franck-Schule Ludwigsburg, which has been running an intensive student exchange with the Anne-Frank-Schule in the Upper Galilee for 29 years. Both the educational director of the PKC, Michael Volz, and the principal of the Robert-Franck-Schule (RFS), Wolfgang Ulshöfer, agreed in advance that the visit of the Israeli guests to Freudental was a very good opportunity to seal the close cooperation between the two institutions through a school partnership.

A diverse group of people stands together in a well-lit room, smiling for the camera. In the foreground, two men in formal attire hold certificates, while a woman beside them also holds a document. A banner is visible to the left, mentioning "1700 years of Jewish life in 1700 minutes."

The picture shows in the front row from left: Michael Volz (Pedagogical Director PKC), Isolde Kufner (Head of the PKC office), District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, Headmaster Wolfgang Ulshöfer and Sandra Förstner (1st from right), responsible for partnerships at the district council office, as well as pupils and teachers from the Robert Franck School and the Anne Frank School in Kibbutz Zaza in the Upper Galilee.

In his welcoming address, District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier referred to the district's long-standing friendship with the Upper Galilee and emphasized the importance of German-Israeli encounters for the younger generation.

Principal Wolfgang Ulshöfer emphasized: "In recent years, we have already worked together on projects such as "1700 years of Jewish life in Germany" and the preparation of the memorial service for the desecration of the Freudental synagogue by pupils from the Robert Franck School. The PKC is also an extremely important extracurricular place of learning for our student exchange with the Anne Frank School in the Upper Galilee and an excellent example of a living culture of remembrance. This also shows that our school culture and the goals of the PKC are an excellent match." He continues: "For me personally, the PKC is also a place to pause for thought, which is a special reminder of Jewish life in our district. That's why I'm also a member of the PKC association."

Michael Volz inspired the young Israeli and German teenagers with his juggling skills, which are not only fun, but also an essential element in getting to know each other, according to Volz.
