Grand opening: Art exhibition "HEIMSPIEL" in the Ludwigsburg district office building

The "HEIMSPIEL" art exhibition was officially opened in the atrium of the Ludwigsburg District Office on Thursday, September 12, 2024. As part of "Kunst im Kreishaus", the exhibition shows the work of Ludwigsburg artists Tamara Suhr and Peter Hermann until October 10, 2024.

A group of four adults stands beside two sculptures of children. The figures depict two pairs of children, one wearing casual clothing and the other a bright orange dress. The adults are smiling, showcasing a sense of pride and connection to the artwork.

The new exhibition "Heimspiel" was officially opened on Thursday evening. From left to right: the artists Peter Hermann and Tamara Suhr, Head of Department Bettina Beck and art historian Dr. Caroline Danz (Ludwigsburg District Office).

Bettina Beck, Head of the Department of Finance, Education and Facility Management, opened the exhibition and emphasized the importance of the local art scene in her speech: "It is a special pleasure for us to be able to present the works of Tamara Suhr and Peter Hermann in our atrium. Their art of depicting the human figure in wood and bronze enriches our cultural exchange and inspires us all. We are proud to have this established artist duo working here in the Ludwigsburg district and are delighted that their work can be seen in Ludwigsburg again after a long time."

The exhibition offers a comprehensive selection of works by both artists. Tamara Suhr concentrates almost exclusively on children's figures. Her works are playfully dreamy, serious and always intensely connected to the surrounding environment. "It's always such a special moment for me when two cheeky eyes suddenly look at me while I'm modeling and the figure takes on a life of its own," says Suhr. She has always been fascinated by the human figure. "To this day, I have remained faithful to the figure, finding it the best way to express myself," says the artist.

Peter Hermann's figures are sophisticated and technically demanding. With charm and a tongue-in-cheek view of the world, they manage to enchant the viewer. "Coming from a traditional craft background, I learned to particularly appreciate free work during my studies at the university. I also discovered wood and bronze for myself there thanks to the many possibilities," says Hermann.
