Former patron Jens Spahn visits Ludwigsburg: traveling exhibition on measles to raise awareness

Former patron Jens Spahn (MDB) of the "Stop Measles!" campaign (2019-2022) was recently a guest in Ludwigsburg. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier and Dr. Uschi Traub from the Health Department of the Ludwigsburg District Office thanked him for his support of the campaign.

Three individuals stand in a sunny square in front of a historical building. One man in a suit holds a green, cartoonish virus model, while the other two, a man in a blazer and a woman in a black jacket, stand beside him, all engaged in a discussion or event related to health.

The aim of the campaign was to raise awareness of the topic and educate the population about measles in order to further increase acceptance of the vaccination. Obviously with success: in the district of Ludwigsburg, the vaccination rate for children fully vaccinated against measles at the 2023 school enrolment examinations was 97.6%, higher than the 96.5% in Baden-Württemberg.

Although the Measles Protection Act came into force on March 1, 2020, it is still important to raise awareness of the measles vaccination and to reach young adults who do not work in a community setting. A newly designed traveling exhibition can be borrowed free of charge by companies, municipalities, health insurance companies or associations.
