Third winner of the district Olympics is Bönnigheim

Three equally matched participants competed against each other in the third and final discipline of the District Olympics. The three municipalities of Bönnigheim, Gerlingen and Markgröningen took part in the "I can see what you can't" discipline from November 9 to 14. All residents were invited to enter the starting blocks and help their municipality to victory.

A laptop screen displays a video conference with multiple participants. In the main view, a group of children in orange uniforms stands in a circle, surrounded by flags. The setting appears to be indoors, and some attendees are visible at the top of the screen.

When completing the task, all participants were allowed to express their creativity and come up with costumes that fit in well with the respective city. There were no limits to their creativity: from princesses and winegrowers to Friedrich Schiller, there were numerous original costumes.

Jury chooses the three best costumes

The three best costumes from the three cities were presented to an independent jury on November 14, 2023. In addition to an "expert in the field", the chairman of the 1st Fasnetsverein Steinheim e.V. Daniel Arnold, the jury consisted of department head Heiner Pfrommer from the Ludwigsburg district office, Karin Götz (Stuttgarter Zeitung) and Susanne Matthes (Ludwigsburger Kreiszeitung) as representatives of the press as well as Deborah Wytrych from Löchgau and Julia Wolf from Erligheim as participants in the previous competitions. They evaluated criteria such as effort, authenticity and creativity.

However, in addition to the costumes themselves, the individual presentation show of the towns was also included in the evaluation, which they used as an opportunity to celebrate with the participants. First place went to Bönnigheim, followed by Gerlingen in second place and Markgröningen in third place.

The prize is a special guided tour of Ludwigsburg Residential Palace

The winners can look forward to a special guided tour of Ludwigsburg Residential Palace. "I would like to thank all the dressed-up and costumed residents of the three cities for taking part in our competition," said Heiner Pfrommer, Head of the Department of Labor, Youth and Social Affairs, at the award ceremony. "And after this small foretaste, the 5th season can now come with its foolish costumes!"
