German-Israeli school group visits the district administration office

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier welcomed 13 Israeli and eleven German students and their teachers to the Ludwigsburg district hall on Wednesday (October 15, 2025). The reception was part of the student exchange program between the Robert-Bosch-Gymnasium Gerlingen and the Har VaGai Regional High School in Kibbutz Dafna, Upper Galilee.

25-year partnership

The Israeli students' visit was the first to this school since October 2022. Welcoming them, District Administrator Allgaier said: "I am delighted to welcome another group of Israeli students to our district today. Especially in times like these, personal encounters take on a special significance. Every meeting of young people across borders is a strong sign of peace and understanding." The pupils and accompanying teachers signed the district's guest book, watched a film about the district and received a small gift from the district.

Other items on the program of the twelve-day visit include a visit to the Pädagogisch Kulturelles Centrums Ehemalige Synagoge Freudental (PKC), an excursion to Worms, trips to Vaihingen/Enz with a visit to the concentration camp memorial and to the treetop path in Bad Wildbad. The Israeli pupils are accommodated in host families during their stay.

Five partner schools as a sign of the long-standing friendship with Israel

The district of Ludwigsburg has maintained a friendship with the Upper Galilee for more than 40 years, which led to an official partnership in 1997. A total of five schools from the Ludwigsburg district have partnerships with schools from the Upper Galilee. The partnership between Robert-Bosch-Gymnasium Gerlingen and Har VaGai Regional High School has existed since 1997, and since then school visits to Israel and Germany have taken place at regular intervals.
