The youth camp combines nature conservation with international exchange

LUDWIGSBURG. 15 young people and their two companions from Pest County, the partner region of the Ludwigsburg district, are currently taking part in the 23rd Youth Nature Conservation Camp together with eight young Germans. The focus of the youth nature conservation camp is on landscape conservation measures in the district of Ludwigsburg. First District Officer Jürgen Vogt welcomed the young people to the district hall and thanked the participants for their commitment on behalf of District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas, saying: "The youth camp combines nature conservation with international exchange." The youth nature conservation camps take place alternately in the Ludwigsburg district and in Pest County.

In today's world, it is essential to cooperate across national borders when it comes to environmental and climate protection, said Vogt in his welcoming address. "This is precisely why it is so important to get young people interested in international exchange," said Vogt. The district of Ludwigsburg has a long tradition of cooperation in the field of nature conservation. He informed the camp participants about the district of Ludwigsburg and its partnership with the Hungarian county of Pest. Finally, the First State Official wished the Hungarian guests many great impressions and positive experiences in Ludwigsburg County.

The friendly relationship between the two partners has existed since 1992, and the partnership was officially sealed in 2000. The partnership focuses on joint specialist seminars and projects on social and environmental issues as well as youth exchange programs. In 1997, the Tápió Environmental Foundation was founded as a joint nature conservation initiative that supports the youth nature conservation camps. A major success of the joint work was the designation of the Tápió area as Hungary's eleventh nature park around a month ago.

The Hungarian young people spent a total of one week in the Ludwigsburg district. Landscape conservation work was carried out at Geigersberg in Sachsenheim-Ochsenbach, at Schöllkopf in Sachsenheim-Spielberg and at the Mittelsberg natural monument in Vaihingen. Excursions to the Residential Palace in Ludwigsburg, Marbach and Stuttgart as well as a canoe trip on the River Enz rounded off the program. The youth nature conservation camp was sponsored by the Environmental and Nature Conservation Foundation of Kreissparkasse Ludwigsburg.
