Visit by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier to the partner district of Pest County "The partnership is important because it allows us to get to know each other better and better and to help secure and strengthen peace in Europe"

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier recently spent two days visiting the Hungarian partner district of Pest County with a small delegation from the county council. District Administrator Allgaier met with the county president István Szabó and his deputy Ádám Karácsony. President Szabó presented Pest County at his official residence in Budapest. Other items on the visit program included a tour of the Parliament and a tour of the Gödöllő Residential Palace. "The partnership with Pest County is important because it allows us to get to know each other better and better and to contribute to securing and strengthening peace in Europe," said District Administrator Allgaier.

A group of twelve people stands in a formal chamber, arranged in two rows. Flags are displayed at the sides, and portraits adorn the walls. The setting suggests a governmental or official venue, emphasizing community or civic engagement.

The first contacts between the districts date back to 1992. The official partnership agreement was signed in Budapest in 2000 and in Ludwigsburg in 2001. Youth exchanges have been an important component of the partnership from the very beginning. For more than 20 years, the youth nature conservation camp has been held regularly, alternating between the Ludwigsburg district and Pest county. The district of Ludwigsburg also participates in the Tápió Foundation in the nature reserve there. In addition, the student exchange between the Friedrich-List-Gymnasium Asperg and the Jószef Attila Gimnázium Monor takes place regularly - only interrupted by the corona pandemic. Representatives from Pest County take part in the opening of the Late Harvest Market in the county hall every year and Pest is always represented with a number of stands at the Late Harvest Market. Finally, delegation trips to and from Hungary take place at irregular intervals.
