AVL invites you to a clothing swap party at the thrift store

AVL invites you to a clothing swap party on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Warenwandel secondhand store in Ludwigsburg (Maybachstraße 10). Visitors can bring well-preserved clothing and swap it for new favorite pieces. The event takes a stand against fast fashion and promotes greater sustainability in everyday life.

A cozy room featuring a light blue sofa, a wooden desk with decorative items, and a guitar hanging nearby. A shelf displays various objects, including plants and artwork. A vase of pink flowers sits on a round wooden table, contributing to the warm atmosphere.

The clothing swap party will take place on July 18 at the secondhand department store Warenwandel.

A clothing swap gives well-preserved clothes a second life

A clothing swap party is a simple yet social way to use clothing sustainably. Here, well-preserved clothing gets a second life and new owners—without having to buy anything new.

AVL therefore cordially invites anyone interested to the clothing swap party:

  • Date: Saturday, July 18, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Location: WARENWANDEL – AVL’s secondhand department store
  • Maybachstraße 10, 71634 Ludwigsburg

The trend toward fast fashion has serious consequences

Every year, millions of metric tons of clothing end up in landfills worldwide—often even though many items are still in good condition or have never even been worn. The ongoing trend of so-called fast fashion means that clothing is being bought faster and faster and discarded just as quickly. The consequences are severe: The production of textiles requires immense amounts of water, energy, and chemicals, while mountains of textile waste continue to grow. Yet every single piece of clothing that is used for longer can make an important contribution to environmental protection. By passing items on and reusing them, we can conserve resources, reduce CO₂ emissions, and prevent waste.
