Author and blogger Jan Hegenberg motivates climate-friendly behavior with two lectures at the BSZ: Because the future is better than its reputation

Bestselling author and blogger Jan Hegenberg gave two talks on the topic of the energy transition on Thursday (22 February) at the Berufliches Schulzentrum (BSZ) Bietigheim-Bissingen, motivating school classes and teachers to adopt climate-friendly behavior. School classes from the district and their teachers were able to register free of charge - around 400 people took advantage of the offer.

The future is better than its reputation - in his two presentations in the old school auditorium, Jan Hegenberg ("Weltuntergang fällt aus") showed in a fact-based and entertaining way how society can tackle the energy transition and live in a climate-neutral way by 2040. The pupils also had their say, gave their opinions and asked the author questions.

Principal Ranzinger: "The topic of climate protection is firmly anchored in our everyday school life"

Principal Stefan Ranzinger was delighted with the guest and the positive effect on the audience: "It is important to us to regularly invite people to our school center who can convey their expert knowledge in a clear way and thus tie in with the students' everyday lives. The topic of climate protection is firmly anchored in our everyday school life, for example through our participation in the 'Energy-saving models at schools in the Ludwigsburg district' project. Motivation and a sense of self-efficacy are essential for everyone to support it - and that's exactly what Jan Hegenberg conveyed here today."

The event took place as a side event of the municipal forum "Partnerships for Climate Action", at which the district is bringing together local and international municipal practice, science, politics and other stakeholders in the fields of climate protection and climate adaptation in Ludwigsburg's district hall from March 6 to 8.
