Head of Department Andreas Eschbach welcomed the trainees and said: "Well-trained staff is becoming increasingly important." Five trainees want to become administrative assistants, six are aiming to become civil servants in the intermediate non-technical administrative service and five have opted for a career in the higher civil service. One trainee wants to become a surveying technician and two want to become road wardens. Another five will start studying social work on October 1, 2024.
Additional professions added to the training program
This year, several new apprenticeships have been added to the range offered by the district administration office. For the first time, one of the five students will begin a dual course of study in the field of asylum and migration. One trainee wants to become an office management assistant, one wants to train as a protection and security specialist and one will study business administration and health management. "The district administration office is proving its pioneering role, especially when it comes to health and safety," says Eschbach.
Introductory days were held to mark the start of training. The program included a get-to-know-you session with a joint lunch and various team-building activities. Training manager Georgios Sidiropoulos and his team provided tips for a successful start to working life.
