Start of the district tour in Oberriexingen

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier's first inaugural visit recently took place in Oberriexingen. In the smallest municipality with historical town rights in the district, Dietmar Allgaier gained an impression of Oberriexingen in a personal conversation and during a tour of the town. District Administrator Allgaier was delighted with the development of Oberriexingen, the family-friendly atmosphere and the high local recreational value. "Oberriexingen has something to offer for all generations," said the district administrator during the tour.

Mayor Frank Wittendorfer presented many of the recently completed construction projects during the tour of the town, which has around 3,300 inhabitants. Stops on the tour included the Schrannenäcker-Süd development area with the new general practice, the new nature and forest kindergarten in Reutwald, the "Stadtkern II" redevelopment area with the recently renovated historic town wall and the new pump track facility in the fun park. "This modern facility was certainly worth its weight in gold for the citizens, especially in Corona times after the reopening of the playgrounds," said District Administrator Allgaier during the tour. The new bike service station at the intersection of Mühlstraße and Hauptstraße, which was funded by the district as part of the RadKULTUR project, was also officially inaugurated during the event. Wittendorfer thanked District Administrator Allgaier and the district of Ludwigsburg for the new cycle service station, which perfectly complements the Enz Valley cycle path on its route through Oberriexingen.

An initial assessment was also made on the topic of "Corona and the effects on the municipalities". District Administrator Allgaier and Mayor Wittendorfer agreed that the challenges for the district and the municipalities in an immensely dynamic phase in spring were enormous overall, but that the situation in the district had been managed well so far in trusting cooperation between the district office and the municipalities. "Now it is primarily a matter of getting through the current vacation period with controllable Covid-19 case numbers and the many returning travelers so as not to endanger the start of school and daycare as well as the local economy after the summer vacations and ultimately the individual health of the residents in the district once again," emphasize District Administrator Allgaier and Mayor Wittendorfer. The town of Oberriexingen, which does not have a retirement or nursing home, was at the top of the list of municipalities in the Ludwigsburg district in terms of Covid-19 case numbers in relation to the number of inhabitants for weeks at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March. "Many of the people who fell ill with Covid-19 in the town at the time are unfortunately still struggling with the after-effects, even though they have been considered to have recovered for months. The coronavirus and the general AHA rules should therefore still be taken very seriously," Wittendorfer reports from recent personal conversations with people who fell ill in the spring.

As part of his district tour, District Administrator Allgaier will visit all 39 towns and municipalities in the district over the next few months and talk to the mayors. Due to the coronavirus, the inaugural visits could only start later than originally planned and will probably continue next year.
