Working meeting in the district hall with delegation from Bergamo: "Many points of contact for cooperation"

A working meeting with the delegation from Bergamo, consisting of Sergio Gandi, Deputy Mayor of the city of Bergamo and Prof. Alberto Barzanò from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, took place on Thursday (November 7) at the Ludwigsburg district hall on the fringes of the late market. They were joined by District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier, Ludwigsburg's Lord Mayor Dr. Matthias Knecht, District Economic Development Manager Oliver Reichert, Tanino Bellanca, Coordinator of International Economic Relations for the City of Ludwigsburg, and Sabrina Förstner, responsible for partnerships at the District Office. The talks focused on intensifying economic cooperation between the city and district of Ludwigsburg on the one hand and the city and province of Bergamo on the other.

For several years now, both sides have been working on expanding the existing partnership between the city and district of Ludwigsburg and the city and province of Bergamo even further and extending it to other fields.

"The economic strength of Lombardy and the province of Bergamo in particular offers many points of contact for cooperation with the economically strong district of Ludwigsburg as one of the engines of the economy in Baden-Württemberg; both regions are characterized by active research and development and a distinctive industrial landscape with strong medium-sized companies," stated District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier.

First exchange of ideas on an economic forum

At the working meeting, there was also an initial exchange of ideas on a joint event focusing on both economic regions. The concrete idea is to organize an economic forum with the participation of the city and district of Ludwigsburg as well as the city and province of Bergamo. The forum is intended to strengthen cooperation at an economic and political level. During the meeting, the possibilities and opportunities of such a forum were discussed and initial ideas outlined. A German-Italian working group was set up among the partners involved to further develop the project.

"An economic forum between Bergamo and Ludwigsburg creates a direct platform to bring together companies, investors and political decision-makers from both cities," added Ludwigsburg's Lord Mayor Knecht, emphasizing. "The targeted exchange of ideas and successful models will open up new opportunities for trade and investment. Both regions can thus benefit from the respective strengths of the other."
