Inaugural visit of the new Ludwigsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce President Wiesbauer to District Administrator Allgaier - "We are delighted about Dietmar Allgaier's signal to the regional economy to establish successful economic development with future-oriented topics"

On Friday (23.04.21), District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier received the representatives of the Ludwigsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, President Thomas Wiesbauer and Managing Director Sigrid Zimmerling, for an initial open exchange. In discussions with District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier and District Economic Development Manager Oliver Reichert, both sides exchanged views on the concerns of the economy and the opportunities for action by public institutions.

Four individuals stand in a park setting, surrounded by greenery and shrubs. They are dressed in formal and semi-formal attire, appearing engaged in conversation. The scene is bright and sunny, reflecting a professional yet relaxed atmosphere.

The central concern of Wiesbauer, who was a member of the Ludwigsburg district council from 2009 to 2019, is the issue of bureaucracy. A multitude of regulations, a lack of communication between authorities and excessive regulation of the economy are slowing down companies in the district. According to Wiesbauer, the lack of digitalization in the authorities and the overly rigid data protection requirements also mean that decision-making processes are very complex and slow despite the urgency of the matter. Last but not least, Wiesbauer sees major weaknesses in sustainable mobility and transport policy.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier showed understanding for the concerns of the business community. The district and municipal administrations are also affected by increasingly complex regulations. The district office is always interested in optimizing its processes. For example, good progress has been made with digitalization. Nevertheless, regulations issued at federal and state level, such as the General Data Protection Regulation, could of course not be changed locally, the head of the district administration made clear. By setting up a business development office for the district of Ludwigsburg in March of this year, the district is also sending out a signal that the concerns of entrepreneurs are important to it.

Together with several partners in the district, including the Ludwigsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, urgent future issues for companies in the district are to be addressed. The promotion of small and medium-sized companies, innovation, the development of future topics and technologies, the availability of skilled workers and digital know-how, as well as the needs-based provision of space for the economy are central concerns of the economic development of the district and municipalities, which the economy and the district administration office want to visibly promote with new impulses.

District Administrator Allgaier and IHK President Thomas Wiesbauer agreed on a close, constructive dialog. Communication about necessary changes and the definition of projects in the district of Ludwigsburg will also be tackled in direct cooperation in the future. A steering committee is already meeting this week to develop a strategy and concrete measures to strengthen the economy in the district together with the new district economic promoter. It is important to the strategic partners, the district administration office, the Stuttgart region, the Ludwigsburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the district craftsmen's association and the employment agency, to involve a number of companies with an impact throughout the district, which will continue to play a key role following the initiation of the structural change forum.
