Offer from the psychological advice center and Caritas: New online course "Mastering separation - strengthening children" aims to provide help for separated or divorced parents - starts on March 17 - participation is free of charge

Under the title "Mastering separation - strengthening children", the Ludwigsburg district psychological advice center is once again offering free group training for separated or divorced parents in collaboration with the Caritas psychological family and life advice service. The two parallel groups are intended for ten to twelve parents each. The introductory event will take place on March 17 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (parents group A) and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. (parents group B). A further five dates will follow on a further five Thursdays at the same time. The group training aims to provide those affected with help to cope with the situation and find new solutions.

Separations or divorces are difficult and stressful situations for parents and children. Nevertheless, it is important to come to an understanding and minimize the negative effects, especially on the children. This is where the training offered comes in: It aims to accompany those affected through this difficult phase and provide help with which a separation situation can be better managed. By looking at one's own behavior in a more objective context, new options for action can be discovered and solutions found. It is about maintaining communication between the parents, the needs of children in separation situations and tips on how a separated couple can fulfill their parental role well. Materials help the participants to implement the content they have learned in everyday life.

The titles of the six parent training modules are: "Separation and opportunity" (March 17), "Conflicts and solutions" (March 24), "My child and the separation" (March 31), "Staying parents - part 1" (April 7), "Staying parents - part 2" (April 28) and "Future model working team" (May 5). Only one parent can take part in each of the parallel groups. There are still places available for the training.

Participation in the parent training is free of charge. Participants only need an internet-enabled device. Preferably a tablet or laptop.
