Inauguration of the new mayor Marcus Kohler in Erdmannhausen - District Administrator Allgaier wishes the new head of the town hall "much success, stamina, determination and the will to shape the future"

Marcus Kohler was appointed to his new office as mayor of the municipality of Erdmannhausen on Tuesday evening. "You are taking office at a difficult time - not all the goals you have set can probably be implemented immediately, and the coronavirus situation will certainly have a major impact on the budget situation of the municipalities in our district, despite the economic stimulus package and aid from the federal and state governments. Overall, however, your municipality is well positioned for the future. Erdmannhausen offers a well-developed infrastructure and a strong economy. You can build on this," said District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier at the inauguration.

In any case, many exciting topics and new projects await Kohler in Erdmannhausen, the head of the district administration noted and continued: "You have already mentioned some ideas and goals yourself: You want to create a social and family-friendly Erdmannhausen in which all age groups feel comfortable, and you want to strengthen the economic power and at the same time promote climate protection. The specific tasks and priorities are to be worked out in a future forum together with the citizens, the municipal council and the administration."

According to the district administrator, the job of mayor is very fulfilling for many office holders. "This job requires not only specialist knowledge, but also passion, enjoyment in dealing with people and an understanding of one's own family. You have to enjoy shaping things and actively contribute to community development, not lose sight of the wishes and demands of the citizens, involve the citizens, generate majorities in the municipal council, negotiate in the interests of your community and be able to assert yourself in important decisions, demonstrate leadership qualities towards your employees, remain credible, implement your goals from the election campaign, be open and communicative," Allgaier explained.

He is certain that Kohler has these qualities and will be able to apply them successfully in his new role. "You may not yet have any municipal administrative experience in the traditional sense, but you have already been able to get a taste of municipal life through your voluntary work on the board of the Freie Wähler Ludwigsburg and the district committee and as co-founder and chairman of the Oßweil citizens' association. In addition, you will certainly bring new and different aspects to your new office from your self-employed work, which can also be stimulating and beneficial for a town hall. I am sure you will master this - I am also looking forward to our future collaboration."

Allgaier concluded by wishing Kohler "on behalf of the district administration and the district council, but also personally, every success, perseverance, determination and the will to shape your new role as mayor of the municipality of Erdmannhausen. In particular, I hope that, in addition to your personal commitment, you will still find time for family activities, walks and your sporting activities". Finally, Allgaier presented the new mayor with a certificate confirming his election.
