From July 27 until probably the end of the summer vacation: Complete closure of the traffic circle at the Volksbank in Möglingen

The traffic circle at the Volksbank in Möglingen is being renovated. It will therefore be completely closed from the start of the summer vacation on July 27. The closure is expected to last until the end of the summer vacation. A detour will be signposted.

The traffic circle at the Volksbank in the center of Möglingen (junction K 1662 Schwieberdinger Str. / K 1660 Markgröninger Str. / K 1693 Bahnhofstr. / Rathausplatz) has been in need of renovation for some time. As the full closure will result in major restrictions, especially for public transport, the construction work will be carried out during the summer vacation. Due to the vacations, less traffic and therefore fewer people affected can be expected during this time. The district has allocated around 500,000 euros from the district road construction program for the project.

Construction will begin on the first day of the vacation on July 27. The asphalt road surface will be renewed as part of the renovation work. The inner ring of the traffic circle will be slightly raised to improve road safety. The position of the crosswalk in Markgröninger Straße and the geometry of the Markgröninger-/Bahnhofstraße traffic island will be optimized.

All crosswalks will be equipped with tactile guidance elements. Work will be carried out on the footpaths for the municipality of Möglingen.

The traffic circle will be fully closed during the entire construction period. Access for residents via the adjacent roads is possible at all times up to the construction site at the traffic circle.

The detour is signposted. Through traffic between Ludwigsburg and Markgröningen will be routed via the L 1140 bypass and the Weinstraße junction. Traffic to Asperg will be routed via Löscher / Hohenzollernstraße.

Regular bus services are affected by the construction work. Passengers should inform themselves in good time about timetable changes and cancellations.

The construction work is expected to take five to six weeks and will be completed at the start of the new school year.

The district administration office asks all road users for their understanding for the traffic disruptions, especially in the detour area.
