From February 26: Start of the K 1689 partial closure between Ditzingen and Leonberg-Höfingen and end of the K 1600 partial closure between Bietigheim and Freiberg

Due to construction work, the district road 1689 between the traffic circle at the junction of the K 1689 with the Ditzingen bypass and the district border near Leonberg-Höfingen will be closed from Monday morning, February 26, in the direction of Leonberg-Höfingen. The closure will last around two weeks. The K 1689 will remain open in the opposite direction from Höfingen to Ditzingen and into the Glemstal valley. On Monday evening, February 26, the partial closure of the K 1600 between Bietigheim and Freiberg in the direction of Freiberg will be lifted again.

Access from the traffic circle to Zechlesmühle is unrestricted for local traffic. The sidewalk alongside the road in the construction area will be closed to pedestrian and cycle traffic during this period and unsealed during the construction work. Pedestrian and cycle traffic will still be able to use the network of farm tracks next to the district road.

Detour set up via the Ditzingen bypass and the L 1177

Over the next two weeks, the approximately 1.50 meter wide old footpath along the K 1689 carriageway will be removed and replaced by a topsoil banquet. To do this, the existing crash barriers at the side of the road will first be dismantled. The work serves to increase road safety, as sidewalks alongside the road must have a minimum distance of 1.75 meters from the carriageway to ensure sufficient distance between pedestrians and moving traffic.

The detour for traffic in the direction of Höfingen leads from the traffic circle via the Ditzingen bypass and the L 1177 to Hirschlanden. From the Hirschlanden bypass, traffic will reach Höfingen via the L 1136.

K 1600 between Bietigheim and Freiberg open to traffic again from Monday evening

On Monday evening, February 26, the K 1600 between Bietigheim and Freiberg, which is currently also closed due to the removal of a roadside footpath and cycle path in the direction of Freiberg, will be reopened to traffic.

Both measures serve to protect the climate, as this provides an opportunity to unseal a large area without any disadvantages for pedestrian traffic. The district is providing around 100,000 euros each for the work.

The district office asks all road users for their understanding for any traffic obstructions, especially in the detour area.
