From April 26 at the Mathilde-Planck-Schule: traveling exhibition and hands-on stations of the German Cancer Research Center on human papillomaviruses (HPV)

The traveling exhibition "HPV has many faces" by the German Cancer Research Center is on display in the auditorium of the Mathilde-Planck-Schule Ludwigsburg, Römerhügelweg 53, in cooperation with the health department of the district administration and the Mathilde-Planck-Schule from April 26 to May 8, Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Three women, three men, one diagnosis: cancer. The traveling exhibition portrays six people for whom HPV-related cancer became a constant companion in their lives. Those affected tell the personal story of their cancer and thus draw attention to the issue of HPV infection and the importance of vaccination.

At a hands-on station in the form of a giant virus, there are answers to questions such as "What exactly is HPV?", "How do vaccinations work?", "What can I do to prevent cancer?". From dominoes to a marble run, four interactive play areas provide an informal approach to the topic of "vaccination against cancer" and a healthy lifestyle.

As part of European Vaccination Week, the Department of Health is kicking off the HPV awareness tour of Baden-Württemberg organized by the German Cancer Research Center. The kick-off event for schoolchildren will take place on April 25 in the Mathilde-Planck-Schule auditorium.
