How do bats live? Which birds call our forests home? And how can drones help save fawns? Answers to these and many other questions will be provided at the “Wunderland Wald” Forest Adventure Day in the Large Conference Room at the Ludwigsburg County Administration Building. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., children, families, and anyone interested in nature can enjoy a varied program featuring exciting facts, games, and numerous hands-on activities. Starting at 2 p.m., additional outdoor activities will be available.
At various activity stations, visitors can learn more about local wildlife, discover interesting facts about the fascinating world of mushrooms, feel natural materials, get creative, and get hands-on. For example, visitors can create their own personalized forest bracelets, while building nest boxes allows them to make a practical contribution to bird conservation.
The work of hunters is also vividly demonstrated: Guests learn how wild animals are cared for and how fawns are protected from mowers using modern drone technology. Outdoors, interested visitors can also use a tree-bending simulator to explore the stability of trees and learn about the dangers of forest and wildfires as well as how to fight them.
Experience Nature with All Your Senses
Whether on a stalking hunt, listening to the songs of native birds, or discovering nature with sensory boxes: The program combines knowledge and hands-on experience, making the forest’s diversity tangible for young and old alike. Beyond the Forest Adventure Day, there are numerous other activities for children on this day.
The Forest Adventure Day is organized jointly by several partners: the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park, the District Hunters’ Association, the Springinsfeld Children’s Foundation, the Ludwigsburg Landscape Conservation Association, the NABU Markgröningen Group, as well as the forestry departments of the District Administration Office and the Kornwestheim Fire Department.
School classes are warmly welcome. Advance registration is requested. Interested teachers can contact us at 07141 144-42855.
