In the second construction phase during the summer vacation, the junction is fully closed. Access to and from the concrete plant/sewage treatment plant will be via the residential area and the vineyards. After the summer vacation, traffic is expected to be guided through the construction site again in one lane and regulated by traffic lights until the end of the year. In order to keep the impact as low as possible, the construction work is divided into four sections.
Signposted detour and consequences for bus services
The detour is from Neckarwestheim, Ottmarsheim and the highway feeder road via the L1115 to Besigheim (Neusatz) and the K1623 to the B27. The route to Gemmrigheim is also via Forststraße (municipal road at the "Niedere Klinge" industrial estate).
From Kirchheim, the route will be diverted via the B27/Besigheim Neckarbrücke, L1115 Besigheim Neusatz and the K1623 to Gemmrigheim and in the direction of Neckarwestheim B328/A81.
Bus routes 573 and 574 are also affected by the construction work. Passengers are asked to inform themselves in good time about detour, cancellations and possible bus stop relocations.
Costs and significance of the conversion
The construction costs amount to around 1.5 million euros, with the state of Baden-Württemberg providing around 800,000 euros in funding. With the new traffic circle, the temporary traffic lights will no longer be needed, the efficiency of the junction will be improved and the construction method is designed to cope with the traffic load - especially heavy goods traffic - in the long term.
The district administration office asks all road users and residents for their understanding for the necessary restrictions and traffic obstructions during the construction period.
