Traffic safety in view: Vegetation and tree maintenance work along disused railroad line

In the coming weeks, vegetation and tree maintenance work will be carried out along the disused railroad line between Ludwigsburg and Markgröningen. The measures are necessary to ensure road safety.

A service truck with an extended aerial lift is positioned beside a tree. Two workers in the lift are removing branches. A pile of cut branches lies on the ground near a small shed, and a clear sky provides the backdrop to the scene.

Large parts of the railroad line have been out of service for several years and have become heavily overgrown during this time. Since the beginning of this year, the Zweckverband Stadtbahn has been the leaseholder of the land and is therefore responsible for its road safety. A current expert opinion has shown that individual trees need to be felled or cut back.

Work coordinated with nature conservation authority

The upcoming measures are exclusively intended to ensure road safety and are not connected to a possible reactivation of the railroad line. The work is being carried out in coordination with the lower nature conservation authority of the Ludwigsburg district office.

Residents and users of adjacent areas are asked for their understanding for possible temporary restrictions during the work.
