"The award of the child protection quality mark shows how important it is for all stakeholders - from public institutions to voluntary associations - to take clear responsibility for the protection of children," says Christos Vavouras, Head of Social Affairs. Only through close cooperation between organizations, parents and professionals can effective protection be guaranteed.
Head of Department Vavouras: "Child protection is a task that concerns us all"
The quality mark for child protection serves as a visible sign of the commitment of the award-winning organizations to actively work for the safety and well-being of children and young people. "The district of Ludwigsburg hopes that many other organizations will take up this commitment and integrate it into their everyday work," says Vavouras.
The quality mark was awarded for the first time at the "Child protection in the association" symposium. Head of Social Affairs Vavouras presented the quality mark for child protection to the representatives of the associations. "The award of the quality mark shows that many organizations are already taking responsibility and are actively committed to safe framework conditions and child protection in associations," said Vavouras. "I hope that this commitment will continue to grow and motivate others to dedicate themselves even more intensively to child protection."
A total of 31 clubs from the Ludwigsburg district received the award on site. A further 52 will receive the award by post.
Focus on prevention
The award is the result of the joint work of an interdisciplinary working group consisting of representatives from the Ludwigsburg District Youth Council, the Ludwigsburg District Youth Welfare Office and the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters. The aim of this working group was to develop the Child Protection Act, in particular the protection of children and
young people by suitable supervisors, beyond the mere presentation of an extended certificate of good conduct.
The concept developed focuses on prevention: a comprehensive approach that goes beyond formal checks and emphasizes the responsibility of organizations in child and youth work. The signed declaration emphasizes the protection and promotion of children and young people in an appreciative, safe environment.
It contains key commitments such as creating positive living conditions and supporting the independent development of children and young people,
respectful treatment of the personality and dignity of young people, clear awareness-raising and early involvement of specialist agencies in the event of signs of danger and an active stance against violence, discrimination, racism and sexism.
