Pupils, teachers and staff had been preparing intensively for this day for several weeks. On entering the school building, a lively picture presented itself: the foyer was dominated by posters, information stands and bar tables, pictures and balloons hung on the walls and there was a hive of activity everywhere. In the auditorium, a presentation provided information about the Wirtschaftsgymnasium and its profiles. Topics such as admission requirements, foreign language options, the transition to the course level and the final examinations were clearly presented and explained in more detail during the tour of the building.
Focus on the business grammar school
The two business profiles could be learned about directly in trial lessons. The offer was supplemented by showrooms on subjects such as Global Studies and Private Wealth Management. Interactive elements such as a quiz on Spanish-speaking countries, information on language trips to Cádiz and southern England as well as insights into the program of the European School Baden-Württemberg highlighted the international orientation of the educational institution. It became clear how the close regional roots of the Robert-Franck-Schule are combined with an open view of global connections.
Great interest and positive response
The guests took up the offer, came in large numbers and showed great interest. Former pupils were also present, sharing memories and contributing their experiences. "The Open Day fulfilled its purpose: the school community presented itself as committed, open and lively," summarized Headmaster and Senior Director of Studies Steffen Benz. The pre-spring weather meant that at the end of the day, the windows and doors of the school were wide open, not just in a figurative sense, but in a very real sense.
