Mobile repair workshop makes bicycles fit again

From October 4 to 8, the RadCheck of the RadKULTUR initiative will be touring the district.

This fall, the district of Ludwigsburg is inviting people to take part in a bicycle campaign focusing on everyday mobility and service. The doors of its mobile repair workshop are open to interested citizens.

In the mobile repair workshop, cyclists can have their own bicycles checked for roadworthiness by expert mechanics free of charge. Brakes, lights, bells and tire pressure are checked. Minor defects are repaired by the professionals on the spot. During the check, tips are also given on bike maintenance and care: Does the chain need to be oiled? Are there enough reflectors? How is the saddle correctly adjusted?

"With this campaign, we want to get people in the district of Ludwigsburg interested in cycling," explains Madeleine Janker, the district's cycling officer. "After all, the bicycle is an ideal means of transportation for short distances in particular, making it easy and flexible to get around in everyday life."

Together with the RadKULTUR municipalities supported by the state, it offers a diverse program to promote the fun of cycling and motivate people to get on their bikes as a matter of course in their everyday lives.
