District Administrator Allgaier thanked List for his life's work in local politics: "For four decades until your retirement in July 2019, you worked on a voluntary basis as a member of our district council for the CDU parliamentary group with your great expertise and wealth of experience for the good and successful development of our district and made valuable contributions, especially in the administrative committee and the council of elders." List's advice and ideas were also in demand and appreciated in other committees across party lines. Allgaier went on to say that he had made a significant contribution to the founding of Kliniken Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim gGmbH and the Kleeblatt nursing homes.
"Competent, strong character and well-connected thoroughbred local politician"
District Administrator Allgaier also recalled List's time as Lord Mayor: "For 29 years, you also successfully and responsibly guided the fortunes of the then newly unified town of Bietigheim-Bissingen with great commitment as Lord Mayor from 1975 onwards." As a regional councillor from 2004 to 2014 and as a member of the state parliament from 1991 to 2001, List was politically active at other levels. "As a competent, strong and well-connected full-blooded local politician with a strong character, you have always sought dialogue and represented your position clearly and even against resistance for the benefit of the local people with humor, persuasiveness and a willingness to compromise," said District Administrator Allgaier.
Medal of Merit of the district in 2019
