The award ceremony took place during the Musikverein's annual concert in the Alte Kelter town hall in Besigheim. In front of numerous guests, the District Administrator presented the award, donated by the Federal President, to the chairman of the association.

"The Musikverein Stadtkapelle Besigheim has shaped the cultural life of the town and our district for a century," said the District Administrator in his speech. "The Pro-Musica plaque honors this extraordinary commitment. It is an expression of gratitude and recognition - not only for today's members, but also for all those who have shaped the association since 1925. Music connects people - and it always gives us those special moments of happiness."

Benjamin Ziegler, 1st Chairman of the Musikverein Stadtkapelle Besigheim, thanked District Administrator Allgaier: "The award of the Pro-Musica plaque fills us with pride and deep gratitude. This award not only recognizes 100 years of musical activity, but above all the commitment of many generations who have put their heart and soul into our association. For us, however, the award is not just a look back at an eventful history, but also an incentive for the future. We want to continue to inspire people for music, live community and make our contribution to cultural life in Besigheim."

In addition to the award, the district administrator also presented the association with a donation of 500 euros from the district as a token of appreciation for their voluntary commitment and musical work.

The Pro-Musica plaque was donated by the then Federal President in 1968. It is one of the highest awards for amateur music in Germany. It is awarded to music associations that have rendered outstanding services to the cultivation of instrumental music-making and the promotion of cultural life over many decades. As a rule, the prerequisite is that the music association has been in existence for at least 100 years as well as proof of continuous musical work. The plaque is presented together with a certificate from the Federal President.
