District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas receives Chinese delegation from the twin city of Yichang at the district hall

A five-member delegation from the city of Yichang received District Administrator Dr. Rainer Haas in the district building on Thursday. The Vice Party Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Yichang City, the Head of the Finance Department of Yichang City, the Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Office and the Presidents of the city's investment group and the high-tech industry in Yichang signed the district's guest book.

A group of six men, dressed in business attire, stands together in an indoor setting with wooden paneling. They are positioned around a podium, with flags in the background. The ambiance suggests a formal meeting or event.

The head of the district administration showed the delegation from China the cooperation agreement between the Ludwigsburg district and Yichang, which was on display in the conference zone. In his welcome address, District Administrator Haas referred to the long-standing partnership and said: "I am delighted that we have such a lively partnership with the city of Yichang - especially in this day and age, cooperation across national borders is indispensable." The long-standing cooperation with the city of Yichang shows that both sides benefit from it, said District Administrator Haas. He cited the cooperation in the field of clinics as an example, as well as the school contacts established as a result of the partnership, which enable the Chinese pupils to apply and improve their language skills directly on site.

The guests from China will be visiting the Ludwigsburg district for a total of three days. The program includes a visit to the Schäferlauf in Markgröningen, a tour of the Residenzschloss palace and a visit to the Ludwigsburg Clinic. The delegation will be welcomed there by the Managing Director of Kliniken Ludwigsburg-Bietigheim gGmbH, Prof. Jörg Martin. The exchange between the Ludwigsburg Clinic and the 1st People's Hospital in Yichang has existed since 1991, and specialists and nursing staff regularly visit each other.

The partnership with the province of Hubei in central China began in 1990. A cooperation agreement with the city of Yichang, which has a population of around four million, has been in place since 1995. The agreement primarily provides for cooperation in the areas of healthcare, culture and vocational training.
