Mobile youth work is a valuable and extremely important task because it supports young people in their development. However, mobile youth work can be a task for cities and municipalities and is not the responsibility of the district. For this reason, the financing of mobile youth work via the district budget was questioned and included in the budget consolidation process. The members of the budget commission have now followed the recommendation of the district administration to hand over the MJA.
During the process, the district administration was in constant contact with the city of Ludwigsburg and has already informed them of the transfer of the task, as the mobile youth work is housed in rooms that the city has rented.
Employees have already been informed
The transition is a matter of ongoing administration. The employees of Mobile Youth Work have already been informed. They will continue to carry out mobile youth work within the existing framework until the end of the year. From 2026, the employees will be deployed in other important areas within the district administration's social services department.
It is now up to the city to decide which concept will be used to offer mobile youth work in Ludwigsburg from 2026.
