Gemmrigheim traffic circle: full closure extended until September 19, 2025

Construction of the traffic circle at the K 1623 / K 1625 junction near Gemmrigheim has proceeded according to plan so far. In the coming week, however, a temporary structure will have to be built in the northern part of the traffic circle. This will extend the full closure until Friday, September 19, 2025. It can be lifted again on Saturday, September 20, and the junction can initially be provisionally opened to traffic. Traffic can then flow in all directions at 30 km/h and the bus routes can also run according to the timetable.

A red and white barrier blocks a deserted road flanked by green trees. Two red traffic lights indicate the closure of the road ahead, signaling to drivers that passage is restricted.

The reason for the temporary construction is a 110 kV power line, which requires Netze BW to carry out switchovers and adjustments to the power grid so that electricity customers can be supplied without disruption. Construction work on the traffic circle can only be resumed once this work has been completed, which is scheduled to take around eight weeks: In this final construction phase, earthworks will be carried out in the rainwater retention basin next to the roadway. The concrete carriageway will then be completed by building the missing connection of the fourth branch of the traffic circle to the sewage treatment plant and the Blatt company.

The construction of the traffic circle is expected to cost 1.56 million euros. The state is funding around half of this.

The district administration office would like to thank all residents of the residential area next to the traffic circle and all road users for their understanding of the construction work during the summer vacations and the associated inconvenience.
