District election: Ballot papers in constituency 11 mixed up

In constituency 11 (Steinheim, Großbottwar, Oberstenfeld, Murr), some postal voters were inadvertently sent ballot papers from constituency 14 (Remseck, Affalterbach). Voting with a ballot paper from the wrong constituency is invalid in the district election. Voters affected should contact their municipality of residence so that the ballot paper can be replaced.

Document titled "Merkblatt für die Wahl des Kreistags" outlines voting instructions for an election in Ludwigsburg, Germany, scheduled for June 9, 2024. It includes information about the voting block, candidates, and important guidelines for ballot submission. "Muster-Stimmzettel" is marked prominently at the bottom.

In the sample ballot paper for constituency 11 (Steinheim, Großbottwar, Oberstenfeld, Murr), the constituency on the ballot paper is highlighted in yellow.

Anyone who has received an incorrect ballot paper should contact their local authority - Only one constituency affected

The ballot papers for all constituencies were printed by the same printer. It is suspected that individual ballot papers from constituency 14 (Remseck, Affalterbach) were inadvertently delivered to the municipalities in constituency 11 (Steinheim, Großbottwar, Oberstenfeld, Murr). So far, four such cases have been reported to the municipality of Oberstenfeld. It is not possible to determine exactly how many ballot papers from constituency 14 (Remseck, Affalterbach) were mistakenly sent to voters in constituency 11 (Steinheim, Großbottwar, Oberstenfeld, Murr).

Andreas Eschbach, District Chief Electoral Officer at the Ludwigsburg District Office, is therefore making an urgent appeal to all voters: "Please check your ballot paper for the district election carefully with regard to the constituency. If you find that you have received a ballot paper from the wrong constituency, please contact your local authority so that the ballot paper can be exchanged. If you have already voted by postal vote and are unsure whether you have voted for the correct constituency, please also contact your local authority. You will then be given the opportunity to vote again for the district election (and the correct constituency)." The ballot paper previously sent in will be declared invalid.

All affected voters from the constituency will also receive an information letter from their local authority containing information on how to proceed and the contact details of the relevant local authority.
