District road 1660 through Möglingen is being renovated - full closure necessary until probably the beginning of November, local detour signposted

From September 19, the district road 1660 (Markgröninger Straße) in District road 1660 (Markgröninger Straße) in Möglingen between the traffic circle at Rathausplatz and the end of the town in the direction of Markgröningen. The closure is expected to last until the beginning of November

A roadblock is featured with a red and white barrier, and a circular road sign indicating 'no entry.' There is a yellow sign pointing to the right labeled "Umleitung," which means "detour" in German. Several warning lights are positioned at the top of the barrier.

The road is in a very poor condition and urgently needs to be repaired. Around 700 meters of the district road between the traffic circle at Rathausplatz and the end of the town towards Markgröningen will be repaired. The existing asphalt layers will be removed, the underlying gravel layer recompacted and the asphalt base course and surface course restored. In this context, the road builders from the district administration are also renovating sections of the sidewalk for the municipality of Möglingen.

As part of the full closure, the "Markgröninger Straße" bus stop will also be converted to make it barrier-free.

Markgröninger Straße will be fully closed during the entire construction period. In order to keep the restrictions for local residents to a minimum, the renovation will be divided into two construction phases. The sections will be divided approximately at the "Im Heuleger" access road.

The local detour is signposted. Through traffic will be diverted to Markgröningen via Schwieberdinger Straße, state road 1140, state road 1141 and district road 1705.

Public bus services will be affected by the construction work. Bus passengers should inform themselves in good time about timetable changes and cancellations.

The district has allocated around 450,000 euros from the district road construction program for the project.

The district authority asks all road users for their understanding for any traffic obstructions, especially in the detour area.
