Free e-bike courses in the Ludwigsburg district: where the fun of riding is not neglected

With the "radspaß - sicher e-biken" project, the district is pursuing the goal of increasing the riding safety of pedelec riders. The free courses are particularly suitable for newcomers - in addition to exercises on riding technique, coordination and road safety, the main focus is on having fun. There are currently five courses on offer in the district.

A group of people are practicing cycling on a gravel area marked with small cones. Some participants are maneuvering around the cones, while others are positioned nearby, showcasing a sunny day with a clear blue sky and green hills in the background.

There are currently five courses to choose from, which can be booked free of charge via the portal radspaß.org. In addition to riding technique exercises to train coordination and reaction, the four-hour courses also cover road safety topics. Participants rehearse special riding situations to develop a feel for the bike - and then be able to ride safely in traffic.

Background: cycling fun courses for pedelec riders

The number of e-bikes on the roads is increasing: according to the German bicycle industry, two out of five bikes with an auxiliary motor were sold in 2020. However, pedelec riding is different from conventional cycling, if only because of the strong acceleration and higher weight. Newcomers should therefore take a little time to get to know the pedelec better and adjust to the new riding experience - in order to get around safely and have fun.

The "radspaß - sicher e-biken" (cycling fun - safe e-biking) project run by the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC) and the Württemberg Cycling Association (WRSV) is designed with this in mind. Special riding safety training courses are designed to teach cyclists safety in critical situations, confidence in road traffic and riding enjoyment. Information and booking at www.radspass.org
