If the incidence value is below 100 tomorrow (Saturday), the count would start again. The easing of opening level 1 would therefore come into force from next weekend at the earliest. We will now have to wait and see how the infection rate develops. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier regrets the rise in incidence: "The fact that the incidence value in the district is close to the 100 mark and is constantly changing back and forth is really regrettable. I understand the displeasure of those affected, especially of course the restaurateurs who were already expecting to open on Whit Monday. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to follow the guidelines and wait until the incidence value remains stable below 100 for five working days. Once again, I would like to expressly appeal to the citizens of the district to continue to persevere, to be disciplined and not to recklessly jeopardize what has been painstakingly achieved. "
The incidence in the district had already risen to 96.8 yesterday (May 20). Yesterday's and today's increase can largely be attributed to three recent outbreaks with several infected people. The infections occurred in the area of companies in the district and among harvest workers and were detected by rapid tests.
