Jochen Reuschle and Matthias Häußler appointed as honorary deputy district fire chiefs

On Friday (October 11, 2024), the Committee for Environment and Technology (AUT) appointed Jochen Reuschle, commander of the Ludwigsburg fire department, and Matthias Häußler, commander of the Kornwestheim fire department, as honorary deputy district fire chiefs for five years each, after their predecessors Hans-Peter Peifer and Jochen Feyerabend retired from the fire department due to age.

The commanders of the district's municipal and plant fire departments had previously been consulted and a majority of them had voted for Reuschle and Häussler in a secret ballot. Reuschle's term of office begins immediately, Häussler's on February 1, 2025.

The deputy district fire chiefs represent district fire chief Andy Dorroch in the district of Ludwigsburg if required. The deputy district fire chiefs also form a working group together with the full-time district fire chief. They take on management and leadership tasks in cooperation with the district fire chief. The district of Ludwigsburg has a total of three deputy district fire chiefs.
