Through the alert chain established in the county-wide heat action plan, the Public Health Department has informed the municipalities and other relevant institutions about the current warning level. The respective agencies forward the corresponding heat warnings to the affected target groups via their distribution lists.
Recipients include municipalities, outpatient and inpatient care facilities, schools and daycare centers, as well as doctors’ offices, pharmacies, and other institutions. The information provides guidance on current heat stress levels, potential health risks, and appropriate protective measures. Staying Safe Through Hot Days with the Heat Action Plan
The Ludwigsburg district introduced a district-wide Heat Action Plan as early as 2024. It helps institutions and the public prepare for prolonged heat waves and address health risks early on.
Special attention is given to people who are particularly vulnerable to high temperatures. These include, among others, older adults, people in need of care, those with chronic illnesses, and children. The Heat Action Plan provides specific recommendations and informational materials for various target groups.
Cool-Map Offers Tips on Places to Cool Off
The district-wide Cool-Map offers one way to escape the heat on hot days. The interactive map highlights cool and shaded spots throughout the district and is continuously updated with suggestions from residents. Residents can add additional suitable locations themselves, thereby helping to expand the range of options available.
