We all want our lives to be as carefree as possible without many restrictions - just as we had before the pandemic. Let's work together to achieve this. There is a way out of the corona pandemic, and that way is through a high vaccination rate. Vaccination protects you from contracting the virus, it protects you from a severe course of the disease and it protects you from passing the disease on to other people.
That is why we urge you to get vaccinated! Take advantage of the offers that the city and district of Ludwigsburg and their cooperation partners have created or will create in the near future. Complete vaccination protection includes the first and second vaccinations, but also booster vaccinations after five to six months.
What particularly concerns us in these times is that our healthcare system is reaching its limits. Intensive care units are working at full capacity and medical staff have been working under extreme pressure and at the limits of their capabilities for months. The system must not be allowed to collapse - and doctors will even have to decide who can and cannot be helped. We are currently in a very critical situation, the numbers are higher than ever before: it is a matter of preventing illness, further personal suffering and even deaths.
District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier emphasizes: "The district is working flat out to provide as many low-threshold vaccination services as possible in the district. Whether vaccination centers in the large district towns, mobile stations in the municipalities, special vaccination campaigns with the district's own vaccination buses or the campaigns at doctors in private practice - take advantage of the offers distributed throughout the district."
"Coping with the coronavirus pandemic presents us all with an immense challenge," adds Lord Mayor Dr. Matthias Knecht. "We have to act now and make the most of all the options available to us. This includes vaccinations, but also observing the other corona rules - keeping your distance, wearing a mask, washing your hands, ventilating regularly, using the corona warning app and regular rapid tests or self-tests. Please show solidarity: protect your fellow human beings and protect yourself!"
Head of Clinic Professor Dr. Jörg Martin also appeals to everyone's common sense: "The fifth wave will come with or without the new Omikron virus variant. How high it will be depends on all of us. Vaccinate, vaccinate, boost, 95 percent vaccination rate must be the goal."
