Gas shortage forces savings

Since September 1, the ordinance on short-term measures to secure the energy supply has been in force. District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier calls on the population to implement the savings targets.

The current energy emergency, triggered by Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine, requires us to act consistently and collectively. In order to secure the gas supply for everyone over the winter, we as a society must save 20 percent of our previous gas consumption. The district municipalities and the district administration are taking on their role model role and have already been working on numerous energy-saving measures for several months. Among other things, the ordinance on securing the energy supply stipulates that the room temperature in offices be lowered to 19°C, decentralized hot water supplies be partially switched off and the exterior lighting of buildings be switched off.

District Administrator Dietmar Allgaier appeals to citizens: "In order to achieve our ambitious energy-saving targets, we need you all to join in. In view of the massive price increases for natural gas, saving energy is not only worthwhile for the all-important climate protection and security of supply, but also for your wallet."

The district administration's website at https://www.landkreis-ludwigsburg.de/de/umwelt-technik-klimaschutz/klimaschutz/mitmachen/energiesparen-jetzt/ contains information on current regulations and many helpful and easy-to-implement tips for saving energy in everyday life:
